Diocesan-Wide Planning Feasibility Study Online Open Forum

Diocesan-Wide Planning Feasibility Study Online Open Forum

  • Diocese

Over the past two years, more than a thousand ordained and lay leaders have shared their ideas and needs through the Cast the Net visioning process. Twenty Calls to Action emerged, reflecting where we believe the Holy Spirit is leading us as a diocesan community. Responses to these calls will look different in every parish and in every person, and they will require resources and financial supports.

Now, we’re taking the critical next step of launching a diocesan-wide Planning Feasibility Study to prayerfully discern our collective readiness for a potential fundraising campaign that puts parishes first, and reflects the unique needs and shared aspirations across our diocese.

This is your opportunity to have a say in shaping the future of our diocese. We invite all Anglicans—clergy, laity, church leadership, and those new in their walk with Christ—to participate in this important conversation.

🔹 We envision a potential campaign that puts parishes first, with Christ as its centre:
✔️ A minimum of 60% of funds raised will remain with your parish. A flexible sharing formula will enable parishes with extenuating needs to retain additional funds.

✔️ Make your own Parish Case for Support to raise funds towards your unique priorities and aspirations.

✔️ A percentage of funds raised towards diocesan-wide priorities identified during Cast the Net is planned to be accessible to parishes via granting programs.

✔️ Build capacity beyond the campaign by benefiting from hands-on support to build a Mission Action Plan, train volunteers, create communications and more.

✔️ Parishes often see a 2-3% increase in their regular givings as a result of undertaking a campaign, connecting with parishioners and communicating a vision for the future.

How to participate:
Step 1: Review the Preliminary Case for Support
Step 2: Attend an in-person or virtual Open Forum to share your thoughts.

Together, let’s cast our nets deeper and gather input on a plan to raise up parishes and send out followers of Christ to serve the world God loves.
