Nominations invited for Order of the Diocese of Toronto
Nominations are invited for the Order of the Diocese of Toronto to recognize and honour members of the laity who have given outstanding service over a significant period in their volunteer ministry. This year, every parish in the following deaneries is eligible to submit one nomination: Victoria/Haliburton, North Peel, St. James, Toronto East and Nottawasaga. Send a nomination form to your area bishop by Nov. 22. Awards will be presented at the Bishop’s Levee on Jan. 1 at St. James Cathedral. For more information, visit the Order of the Diocese of Toronto page.
Auto-forwarding enabled on diocesan email addresses
In the spring, the Diocese introduced new diocesan email addresses for each congregation to improve security and confidentiality, particularly for those without a reliable email provider. Until now, the settings haven’t allowed auto-forwarding of incoming messages to a different email account. In response to feedback from clergy and congregations, Quartet IT Services has enabled that option. Be aware that auto-forwarded emails won’t be screened through Quartet’s filters, so every message – potentially including scams and spam – will be forwarded.
Archives closed for November
The diocesan Archives will be closed to visitors and research inquiries during November, reopening on Dec. 2, so staff can undertake inventory work and other much-needed projects. Urgent inquiries, including requests for certified copies, will still be processed during the closure, but all others will have to wait until the Archives re-opens. The staff regrets any inconvenience this may cause. For more information, contact Claire Wilton, Archivist and Privacy Officer, at cwilton@toronto.anglican.ca or 416-363-6021 (1-800-668-8932) ext. 219.

- Financial statements for the first three quarters of 2019.

Donate blood and be someone’s holiday miracle
Approximately every minute of every day, someone in Canada needs blood. One blood donation – in just one hour – can save a life. The Synod Office staff are part of the Canada Blood Services Partners for Life program. Any Anglican who is interested in joining the Diocesan Partners for Life Program can donate blood at their local clinic (which can be found at www.blood.ca) and cite the program number ANGL012297. If your parish is interested in donating as a group, your local clinic can also help you set up a group donation.
